Lori Jenkins, CPA, President has over twenty-five years of experience in the financial and operational management of healthcare organizations. With a degree in Accounting from Siena College, she started her career as an auditor for Ernst and Whinney, where she performed audits on a variety of organizations from banks to hospitals. After her tenure at E&W, she moved onto an internal auditor position at Farm Family Insurance. In this position, she was responsible for developing and managing the operational and financial auditing program, which included the health claims department. Prior to starting Strategic Solutions, she acted as Executive Director for a large, multi-site, multi-specialty group practice. During her stay at this practice, where she started as Financial Manager, she managed a 200% growth in providers, and was responsible for developing the annual budget process, enhancing collections, and managing the operational and financial impact associated with rapid growth. As a consultant in Strategic Solutions, she has handled the financial management and operational analysis needs of clients, including analyzing operational and financial performance, selecting computer systems and managing the billing and collections process. Areas of expertise include operational analysis and improvement; coding and documentation review and education; financial management and reporting; managed care contracting; and revenue enhancement through strategies that target both cost reduction and improved collections. Laura Doolin, MBA, Vice-President has almost thirty years of experience in both the hospital and private practice setting. With an undergraduate degree in Sociology from SUNY-Albany and an MBA in Health Systems Administration from Union College, she began her healthcare career as a healthcare planner for a small hospital in Delaware County, where she assisted the hospital in changing its role from an acute-care facility to a skilled nursing facility. From there she went on to a 440-bed hospital, starting as a planner and moving up to Assistant Vice-president for Planning and Program Development. In this position, she was responsible for CON development, new program development and marketing, and departmental business planning, as well as supporting the hospital strategic planning and marketing efforts. Prior to starting Strategic Solutions, Laura was responsible for the development and management of a comprehensive multi-specialty women's health center. As a consultant with Strategic Solutions, she has handled the facilitation of strategic planning sessions, developed quality assurance systems, and participated in the operational evaluations and startups of medical practices. Areas of expertise include strategic planning, program development, physician recruitment, marketing, regulatory compliance, managed care contracting and quality assessment. Marla Krauss, MBA, CPC Vice-President began her career thirty years ago as Office Manager for a three-physician ophthalmology practice in Virginia. Since that time, she has had experience as office manager in a primary care practice and as Director of Operations for a large multi-specialty group practice. In the latter position, she coordinated staff and operations in an 11-physician practice with three sites. She also served as Vice-president of Primary Care Services for Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville, NY. As Vice-president, she was responsible for the fiscal and operational management of a four-site primary care practice. Marla joined Strategic Solutions in 1996, and has been heavily involved in front-line and billing management issues. Her areas of expertise include personnel management, front-line operations, facility development and billing, collections, coding education, and corporate compliance. She is a certified with the American Academy of Professional coders as a Certified Professional Coder. Barbara Eby, Billing Manager, has extensive experience in the medical field, from insurance to transcription. Her experience includes Traveler's Insurance Company, where she was responsible for processing claims. She has been with Strategic Solutions since 1999, and manages the corporation's Billing Service. Barbara manages the billing staff and is the key contact person with both clients and insurers. |
